DONA Trained
Birth Doula&
Postpartum Doula

My name is Jena Scott. I was born and raised in Southern California in Los Angeles County. Growing up, I didn’t really know what career I wanted. All I knew was I wanted to be a mom.

I have followed many peoples journey’s into motherhood and parenthood on social media and along the way I learned about Doulas. It was during the COVID lockdown that I researched a birth doula training and attended virtually. After this training, I set out to learn as much as I could including attending a Postpartum training. I learned that being a doula is similar to mothering and caring for people through and after the birth experience. This really fit with who I am and how I want to impact the world.

I am a Dona International trained Birth and Postpartum Doula through BiniBirth and Los Angeles Doula. I also have taken a lactation for doulas course and have read books to support my work as a doula. I am CPR and First Aid certified and dedicated to keeping my clients safe.

Prior to birth work, I worked in Outdoor Recreation for several years. This included being a student trip leader and taking college students camping and hiking in many different states and National Parks. I also worked at a Boating Instruction and Safety Center (BISC). At the BISC, I facilitated boating field trips for ages 5+ at Castaic Lake. Watching kids have their first boating experiences are memories I will keep forever. Additionally, I interned at the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area (SAMO) with the Every Kid in a Park (EKiP) program. We facilitated many outdoor activities for fourth graders and ended the field trip with a one year pass to all national parks. This internship led me to find more work at SAMO with the facilities and maintenance division. I became a trail crew leader and our crew liked to say we did “extreme landscaping” for hikers.

Although I shifted my career focus, I still have a strong passion for spending time in nature and the outdoors. I find my peace there and when I am feeling stuck or down, a walk/hike/camping trip can usually cheer me up.

Some of my other passions in life are practicing meditation and yoga, cooking for my husband, rock climbing, painting, dancing, occasionally reading, and having a cup of peppermint tea.

If you would like to get to know me more, I offer free discovery calls where we can chat on the phone or on a video call. I would love to get to know you and how I can help you!

Peace and love,

Jena Scott
